Step 1. Selecting a Video File

In this section you will choose a video file and select a range within the video file that you want to publish.

Click the Browse button to select a video file to be imported. The video details (dimension, frame rate, audio frequency and channels) will appear on the upper right window section. The following video formats are supported by the Flash Video Studio:
Microsoft Windows Video Files (AVI, WMV, ASF)
MPEG Video Files (MPEG, MPG, MPV)
Quicktime Video Files (QT, MOV) (You need to have Quicktime video player installed)
MPEG4 (through AVI format, you need to have the CODEC)
DIVX (through AVI format, you need to have the CODEC)
If you want to select a range of video to be published, check the Only publish a selected range of this video checkbox. An additional control to set the range start and the stop time will be appeared. You can either type in the value or move the video frame slider to a specific frame and click the Use current frame button to set the value.

Note: The video frame slider will highlight the selected range and will allow you only to play the highlighted range. To reset, simply click the Reset selection button.

Choose to publish video without audio

To publish a video without audio, check the Do not import audio checkbox. This is useful when you want to make a silent video or to use a secondary soundtrack which you can set later in the Step 3.
