Publishing multiple videos (Batch Publishing)

Top  Previous  Next

Imagine that you have a collection of video clips in your website and you need to update them all at once. With Flash Video Studio batch publishing feature you can simply select several videos, apply the same compression settings, add watermark, publish and upload them into your website with one hit of a button.

The Flash Video Studio batch publishing feature will apply the same settings as the current setting in the main project:

Selection range settings

This allows you to publish only a specific range within all the published videos. Eg: You can publish only the first 10 seconds of all the published videos.

Quality and Compression settings

This allows you to select the same quality and compression settings for all published videos.

Watermark settings

This allows you to add the same image and text watermark to all published videos.

Published dimension and frame rate changes

This allows you to set all published videos to have the same dimension and/or frame rate.

Effect settings

This allows you to apply the same effects to all published videos.

Publication settings

This allows you to use the same publication settings and navigation control with the same customization for all published videos.

To start the batch publishing process:

Create a new project and then import the first video as the basis to set up the main project.
Set the above settings.
Click the Publish - Batch Publish menu or the Batch Publish button in the toolbar.
A batch publish window will be appeared.

Add the video files that you want to publish by clicking the + button. A File browser window will be opened. You can select multiple files by holding the shift or control key. The video files that you have selected will be shown on the table. To remove a video from the table, select the file and click the - button.
To save the publish output in the same folder as the original video file, check the Put publish output in the same folder as original video file checkbox.

Otherwise, uncheck it and select the target folder by clicking the Browse button at the top windhow. All the published videos will be saved in this folder using the same file name as the original video file.

By default Flash Video Studio will write a detailed log complete with the publish statistic and result for each published video. This log is saved in FStudio-Report.txt at My Documents folder. You can change the log location by clicking the Browse button at the bottom window. You can also disable the log creation by unchecking the Save a detailed log report at checkbox.
For your convenience, at any time you can close the batch publish dialog, adjust some settings in the main project and go back to the batch publish dialog. All the selected video files will still be kept.
To start the batch publishing process, click the Publish button.
A bandwidth profiler window will be opened, showing a detailed analysis for each published video. At the end of the publication, if you select to upload the published output, the Flash Video Studio will upload the output files.
When the publication is finished, the Batch Publish Report window will be opened. You can see the publish status and the published bandwidth for each video.
