Bandwidth Profiler

Bandwidth Profiler is a very important feature which helps you to analyze the published video. You can easily identify any part of your video that uses bigger bandwidth (internet speed) than what you are targeting. You can also watch the overall file size. Bandwidth profiler is updated frequently during the publication process to enable you to identify the problem earlier and to stop the publish process if you want to.

bandwidthprofiler

The top left section of the bandwidth profiler window shows the published preview.

The video and audio published settings together with the following publish statistics under the Overall details category are shown:

Original Size: The video original file size in Kilobytes.
Output Size: The current published file size (increasing along with the publish progress) in Kilobytes.
Bandwidth: The average published video bandwidth in kilobit per second.
Peak: The maximum video bandwidth reached through the entire publication in kilobit per second.

At the bottom section, the bandwidth profiler shows a bandwidth graph. The horizontal axis is the movie duration in seconds, while the vertical axis is the bandwidth second.

Note: k denote kilobit per second, M denote megabit per second.

A bandwidth per second is represented by a color coded vertical bar. A green color represents a bandwidth less than 85% of the targeted bandwidth. A yellow color represents a bandwidth bigger than 85% of the targeted bandwidth but smaller or equal than the targeted bandwidth. A red color represents bandwidth bigger than the targeted bandwidth.

The targeted bandwidth mark is represented by a yellow dotted line. When you choose a preset quality (see here), the Bandwidth profiler automatically select the targeted bandwidth, otherwise it will disable it. To manually change the targeted bandwidth mark, select the options in the Analyze bandwidth against listbox.

Note: Selecting a target bandwidth mark does not effect your published video. It is merely for showing how well the currently published video against the targeted bandwidth.

You can abort the publish process at anytime by clicking the Abort button.

If you want to close the bandwidth profiler automatically after each publication, check the Close automatically when finish checkbox. You can alter this settings from the Options - Preference menu.
